..and find a new life.

I want to escape this life and find a new person within myself. Day to day it feels like my life is just dieing. I want to pack my bags and explore what the world has to offer. I have never travelled abroad. I don’t know how I’m ever going to save the money. But somehow I will. It feels like this is my only hope to enjoy my life, before it’s too late.

I want to do this too! I’m from the U.S., and have never lived abroad. I’m a 3rd year college student, and i feel like my life is missing something. i want to “break all the rules” and just travel all around the world. Maybe then, i’ll find what i feel my life is missing. i just wish i had the money to do it, and the guts to leave behind my job, education, friends, family, etc.

Ryan, what college do you go to? You should consider studying abroad for a semester, it’s usually pretty close to the same cost as living on campus.

You guys might want to consider doing a housing exchange. Try Craigslist or something like http://sabbaticalhomes.com/

I also live in the US, but have travelled to Europe and have moved from coast to coast several times. I think it was the most important thing I’ve ever done. I learned who I really was… not who my family and friends had molded me into. I feel more like myself than I ever have. Even just a week away in a city all by yourself is a good start. Maybe just pick a place and stay in a hotel for one week somewhere. It might cost $1000 but I think it would be well worth it. Go somewhere where you can walk everywhere or there is good public transportation and just walk around, see the sights!

I had the opportunity to go to Boston for about 8 weeks through my job. I spent a lot of time alone in the city, and I became a new person. Maybe you could look for a job that has travel requirements??!
