    Do you currently write? You could perhaps begin to build up a portfolio of writings about the areas local to you and try to get these writings published on blogs and such like. Or maybe start your own travel writings blog. Eventually you might be able to write freelance pieces for different magazines and then you might just get sent to a destination after a while :) It would be a nice job.
